Walk away your stress. I know it sounds too easy to be true but it has proven in study after study that walking is one of the best ways to relieve your stress. A brisk walk will make you feel better, no matter what your day was like. And a walk outdoors has been shown to have even more benefits, especially if you can get in a natural setting with tress.
Walking has probably saved my life over the last few very stressful years. I have put over 1300 miles on my Nike Run Club app. I have a fast playlist with lots of different music to keep me moving. Grab your headphones, put on some good walking shoes, and take off. I am lucky to be in a small town and can walk throughout local neighborhoods, and I live on the coast of Florida so I am lucky to have good weather and a beautiful beach as well.
There are plenty of studies that show how beneficial walking can be for you mentally as well as physically. I have recently added High Intensity Interval Training (hiit) to my walks and that has upped the benefits even more. You just increase your intensity for short spurts during the walk. I usually walk for at least an hour if possible. During that hour I do a 20 minute period where I run for 30 seconds and then walk for 1.5 minutes, then run for 30 seconds and walk for 1.5 minutes. I do this about ten times and the rest of the hour I am walking briskly.
Walk away your stress! Travel nursing can be a stressful like and you really must find ways to let go of some of that stress. Just try it and you will be amazed at the difference in the way you feel and if you are consistent you will start to see many other improvements in your wellbeing, mental clarity and much more. Be safe!
