It's up to you! And only you can make a difference in your health. You can get all the great advice available from sources everywhere, but if you don't make changes in your diet, lifestyle, exercise habits, attitude and more….nothing will change and your health will not improve. That's a fact! It's up to you! Do you want to add years to your life or….life to your years? I'm all about adding life to my years, each day, one day at a time. Be here now!
And as far as healthcare is concerned, I'm sure most of us would agree that less meds, lower dosages of necessary meds, fewer visits, fewer tests, less cost, less harm from subsequent treatments and medications, may be most beneficial for many, including the elderly. I know from taking care of my elderly parent that the prescribed meds were often a big cause of problems and I took great care and got many of the older meds removed as they were just no longer necessary. The cocktail of meds prescribed to most seniors is simply amazing.
So of course, I'm not saying to have no regard for medical advice. Just become more involved in your own body and pay attention to it. Your body will tell you many things if you listen. Once again, one of the many benefits of yoga and meditation, listen to your inner voice grasshopper! Live long and prosper!
