Of course, there are an abundance of apps out there for all uses at this point in the game. "There's An App For That" is now a known fact in most of the country. Anything you need to know you can find with your Smartphone. Don't even really need a laptop any more, do we? Here are a few cool apps I have found in my research and would like to pass on to you to hopefully make your life easier.
So, if you are hitting the road to your next travel assignment you might want to check out roadtrippers.com, Road Trippers. It is an app that will let you enter your start point and your destination and it will show you things along your route and help you plan your trip. It could help you get there quicker or it could help you find cool stuff along the way, your choice, of course, depending on your schedule.
Of course, Google Maps on your phone can be used anywhere and you can just type in Explore this area and it will help you find all kinds of useful stuff and even look at the "street-view" to check it out before you enter an area if you like.
Hotel Tonight is a great booking service to get a hotel for the night when traveling. You can book up to seven nights out but this app is best known for providing great info for last minute hotel needs.
A great app I have used is Kayak. It is a search engine for flights, cars, hotels and all things travel. Kayak has a built in flight tracker tool as well and syncs up with TripAdvisor which allows you to check details about the area and find things to do in the area with their Explore feature.
Ranking in Time Magazine's Top 50 apps is Hipmunk. Hipmunk will let youshop for flights, hotels and even links up with Airbnb, HomeAway and VRBO for alternatives to conventional places to stay. Forbes called it the new gold-standard of travel apps.
There are quite a few great apps to help Travel Nurses and Healthcare Travel Professionals store, download and share documents. A couple of them are: OneDrive, Box, DropBox or GoogleDrive. Your choice of course. These apps will store your docs for easy access from other devices or to quickly forward to recruiters or assignments. Cloud based is definitely the way to go and save yourself some paperwork grief.
Another great app for travel nurses and probably just about everyone else as well, is Evernote. You can obviously download it on all your devices. Documents can be uploaded in almost any format and can be stored and modified within the app. You can pictures of docs or anything else and these pictures can be sorted even if it's your handwriting on the picture. Organization is the key and this app can help you get organized!
So, obviously, these are a mere handful of suggestions for apps. Please feel free to email me,
