The Travel Nurse industry is still growing rapidly with shortages all across the country in so many facilities. RN's are the people who are on the front line. That's who people see first when visiting a medical facility or doctor, and who they have the most contact with as well.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics it is estimated that there are over 2.8 million RN's working in the US today. Most are earning over $70K annually but that number varies widely depending on the location. And, of course, living expenses vary widely as well. The travel nurse should make sure and check out all the opportunities available in various locations.
