Here are a few of the many uses for Hydrogen Peroxide that I have found over the years. Some you are probably aware of but a few were new to me so I thought I would share them all. Of course there are many more I won't list here. These uses are for the 3% concentration of hydrogen peroxide usually sold in stores.
If you soak your vegetables in a ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 3 cups of water for 30 minutes it will eliminate the pesticides. Rinse them well after the soak and store in the refrigerator. Of course make sure that the vegetables are whole and healthy so that the hydrogen peroxide doesn't get into the vegetable.
Soak your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide overnight and it will keep it clean and fresh. I personally replace my toothbrush very often so this is not really an issue for me. But just in case you need to clean your toothbrush this is an easy method and is great for your oral hygiene.
Blood, sweat, food, wine or just about any other organic stain can be removed by using hydrogen peroxide mixed with a little detergent.
You can mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water for a foot soak that will soften calluses and corns.
Hydrogen peroxide will white your teeth and kill bacteria that cause bad breath.
Because of its anti-bacterial properties, hydrogen peroxide is a great skin cleanser, even for your face.
Swimmers ear and other viruses can be eliminated by putting 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide in each ear and then draining. It also helps get rid of excess ear wax.
You can cleanse your air by mixing 1 pint of hydrogen peroxide in a gallon of water and using a humidifier. This will cleanse airborne germs from the air.
A 1:1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide and water can help with foot fungus. Keep in an amber bottle out of the sunlight for best results and apply directly to fungus.
Of course we all know that small lacerations and cuts will be able to heal faster when you use hydrogen peroxide to cleanse the bacteria from them.
Gargle with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and coconut oil to relieve a toothache.
Hydrogen peroxide is also great for disinfecting lunchboxes.
You can also sanitize your reusable shopping bags after carrying meat in them with hydrogen peroxide.
These are just a few of the many uses I have found over the years. I'm sure you know more but this is some good information to have handy. There are so many uses for such a common household product that most of us have on hand.
